Aproape ca-n Truman Show. Are un apartament dr\u0103gu\u0163, mobilat superb cu tot mobilierul fancy din reclame, un job bine pl\u0103tit \u015fi insipid, \u015fi o via\u0163\u0103 goal\u0103 \u015fi trist\u0103, pe care nu \u015ftie CUM s\u0103 o fac\u0103 mai interesant\u0103. De aceea, personajul are diverse nume de scen\u0103 pe durata filmului, dar niciunul real. Omisiunea numelui e un detaliu important; ea subliniaz\u0103 lipsa identit\u0103\u0163ii. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peste aceasta, se suprapune tema emascul\u0103rii: &#8220;suntem o genera\u0163ie de b\u0103rba\u0163i crescu\u0163i de femei, care nu \u015ftiu s\u0103 fie b\u0103rba\u0163i&#8221;, spune Brad Pitt. C\u0103utare a durerii care va culmina cu tendin\u0163ele autodistructive din ce \u00een ce mai pronun\u0163ate, \u00een a doua jum\u0103tate a filmului. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La \u00eenceput, la \u00eendemnul unui medic, omul nostru merge la diverse \u00eent\u00e2lniri de bolnavi cronici \u015fi incurabili. La \u00eent\u00e2lnirea dintre pacien\u0163ii suferind de cancer la testicule &#8211; simbol al emascul\u0103rii &#8211; \u00eel cunoa\u015fte pe Bob (Meat Loaf), un supravie\u0163uitor care, \u00een urma tratamentului hormonal, a c\u0103p\u0103tat ni\u015fte s\u00e2ni imen\u015fi de femeie,  \u015fi \u00een bra\u0163ele c\u0103ruia eroul nostru poate pl\u00e2nge, s\u0103-\u015fi g\u0103seasc\u0103 lini\u015ftea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dar periplul lui prin grupuri e perturbat de apari\u0163ia unei femei, Marla, jucat\u0103 de Helena Bonham Carter. Estetica Marlei \u00een acest film e hiperfeminin\u0103, amintind mai degrab\u0103 de prezen\u0163a unei drag queen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cert e c\u0103 Marla nu are niciuna din bolile cumplite ale participan\u0163ilor la grupuri \u015fi le viziteaz\u0103 din acelea\u015fi motive cu el; iar proiec\u0163ia exterioar\u0103 a propriei ipocrizii \u00eel frustreaz\u0103 teribil pe eroul nostru. Amuzant pentru c\u0103, \u00eentr-un drum cu avionul, va cunoa\u015fte un tip carismatic, \u015fi de o frumuse\u0163e aparte, care, ulterior, se va dovedi adev\u0103rata lui proiec\u0163ie exterioar\u0103, Tyler Durden (Pitt). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S-au scris volume de comentarii despre cum Pitt este proiec\u0163ia exterioar\u0103 idealizat\u0103, superb\u0103, mereu curajoas\u0103 \u015fi seduc\u0103toare a naratorului; dar nu suficient despre cum Bonham Carter e proiec\u0163ia realit\u0103\u0163ii lui, dezordonat\u0103, isteric\u0103, impostoare, instabil\u0103, \u015fi totu\u015fi iubibil\u0103 prin imperfec\u0163iunea ei. Sincer, m\u0103 a\u015fteptam la un al doilea twist care s\u0103 spun\u0103 c\u0103 \u015fi Marla e o fa\u0163et\u0103 a identit\u0103\u0163ii lui. De aceea, Marla \u015fi Tyler nu sunt niciodat\u0103 \u00een aceea\u015fi \u00eenc\u0103pere. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marla \u00eel irit\u0103 pe narator, \u00eel exaspereaz\u0103 cu toate dramele ei, cu nevoia ei de aten\u0163ie, cu problemele ei imaginare, cu tot acest bagaj at\u00e2t de asem\u0103n\u0103tor cu al lui. Dar Tyler are o chimie s\u0103lbatic\u0103 cu Marla, cei doi pot fi auzi\u0163i prin pere\u0163i f\u0103c\u00e2nd amor dezl\u0103n\u0163uit &#8211; o traducere literal\u0103 a mentalit\u0103\u0163ii multor complexa\u0163i, &#8220;to\u0163i se f** ca iepurii, numai eu nu am pe cine&#8221;. \u00cen rest, Tyler \u015fi Marla se evit\u0103 \u015fi se ignor\u0103 &#8211; recre\u00e2nd rela\u0163ia pe care Naratorul a v\u0103zut-o \u00een copil\u0103rie la p\u0103rin\u0163ii s\u0103i. \u015ei de aceea spun c\u0103 filmul ofer\u0103 indicii subtile c\u0103 Marla ar fi al doilea alter ego al s\u0103u, feminitatea latent\u0103 de care e con\u015ftient \u015fi pe care \u00eencearc\u0103 s-o suprime. Pe de alta, dac\u0103 accept\u0103m c\u0103 Tyler e alter egoul naratorului, con\u015ftientizarea unei atrac\u0163ii din ce \u00een ce mai intense \u015fi frustrarea izvor\u00e2t\u0103 din homofobia internalizat\u0103. \u00cen orice caz, acest cocteil de impulsuri \u015fi de emo\u0163ii explodeaz\u0103 \u00eentr-o scen\u0103 extrem de violent\u0103, \u00een care Naratorul \u00eel desfigureaz\u0103 \u00een b\u0103taie pe Angel Face, p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00eentr-un punct \u00een care \u015fi restul b\u0103rba\u0163ilor din grup sunt \u00een disconfort vizibil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Evident, anarhismul membrilor lui Fight Club se accentueaz\u0103 pe m\u0103sur\u0103 ce devin con\u015ftien\u0163i c\u0103 tendin\u0163a oamenilor normali de a evita conflicte le d\u0103 c\u00e2\u015ftig foarte u\u015for de cauz\u0103, \u015fi \u00eencep s\u0103 se ambi\u0163ioneze p\u00e2n\u0103 la a d\u0103r\u00e2ma capitalismul \u015fi a arunca \u00een aer diverse simboluri ale acestuia, cu un grup numit Operation Mayhem. Aceste decizii sunt luate de Tyler f\u0103r\u0103 ca Naratorul s\u0103 \u015ftie, ceea ce e o oglindire a modului extrem de convenabil \u00een care unii vinova\u0163i neag\u0103 cu neru\u015finare orice responsabilitate pentru faptele lor. Exemplu: copilul care s-a sinucis ieri din cauza abuzului prelungit \u015fi continuat aplicat de taic\u0103-su. A, nu, nu sunt eu de vin\u0103, s-a certat cu prietena. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scena \u00een care naratorul \u00eel confrunt\u0103 pe Tyler, \u00een ma\u015fina care merge cu vitez\u0103 maxim\u0103 \u00een furtun\u0103, e o prim\u0103 expresie a sciziunii \u00eentre ra\u0163iune, cea care \u00eencepe s\u0103 proceseze consecin\u0163e \u015fi s\u0103 ia not\u0103 de riscuri, \u015fi subcon\u015ftient care, \u00een cazul lui Tyler, e o seduc\u0163ie fa\u0163\u0103 de autodistrugere.
